Different Productions LLC ("we") makes 26 Cases, a daily game for iPhone. This page says what the game collects, where it goes, and how to delete it.
THE SHORT VERSION
- No ads, no ad tracking, and nothing is sold.
- Your username, avatar and daily games are on a public leaderboard that every player can see.
- Your game history syncs through your own iCloud, which we can't read.
- We count how the game is played with Amplitude, without your name, your username, your IP address or your location.
THE LEADERBOARD (PUBLIC)
When you pick a username, the game saves these to Apple's CloudKit public database, where anyone using 26 Cases can read them:
- Your username.
- Your avatar: either a built-in pixel picture, or a photo you choose. A photo is redrawn as a square of at most 512 pixels before it is uploaded, which leaves out the original file's details such as where it was taken.
- Each daily game you play: the day, your case, the cases you opened, the offers, whether you took a deal, and what you won.
- An ID Apple makes for you in this app only. It is not your email or your Apple Account name, and we can't use it to find out who you are.
Choosing a photo uses the iPhone's photo picker. The game only ever sees the one photo you pick, not your library.
YOUR OWN ICLOUD (PRIVATE)
Your game history, streaks, lives used and settings are saved on your iPhone and synced through your private iCloud database, so they follow you to a new iPhone. Only your Apple Account can read that data. We can't.
ANALYTICS
We use Amplitude to learn how the game is played. It receives:
- When the app is opened and how long it is used.
- Game events: a daily started, resumed or finished, its number, what was won, how many offers were turned down, the streak, and which banker you faced.
- Whether you allowed notifications.
- Your iPhone model, iOS version, language and the app's version.
- An ID for this app on this iPhone (Apple's "identifier for vendor").
We turned off Amplitude's collection of IP address, city, region, country and carrier. Amplitude never receives your username, your avatar or your Apple Account. We also use Amplitude Experiment, with the same ID, to try different versions of the banker.
GAME CENTER
If you're signed in to Game Center, your scores and achievements are sent to Apple's Game Center leaderboards, under Apple's own privacy policy.
PURCHASES
Lives are bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment. We never see your card or your billing details. The game checks your purchases on your iPhone.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR IPHONE
- The banker's lines are written on your iPhone by Apple's on-device model. Nothing you do is sent anywhere to write them.
- Reminders for the 4:20 AM and 8:20 PM boards are scheduled on your iPhone.
- A few settings, such as whether you've seen the welcome screens.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
- We don't show ads.
- We don't use the advertising ID or track you across other apps and websites.
- We don't sell or rent your data.
- We don't collect your location, contacts, or anything from your photo library beyond the one photo you choose.
DELETING YOUR DATA
- To delete your username, avatar and leaderboard games, email support@26cases.app from any address and tell us your username. We delete them within 30 days and reply when it's done.
- To delete your private game history, go to Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, Storage, and 26 Cases, and delete its data. Deleting the app removes what's on your iPhone.
- To delete what Amplitude holds for your iPhone, email us and we'll ask Amplitude to delete it.
CHILDREN
26 Cases is not made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has a username, email us and we'll remove it.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. A change to what is collected will also be shown in the game.
